LAVs, HMMWVs and a Displaced Israeli

Hello people. Here is a bit of what I've been working on. I've slacked off from the building and painting right now so these works are about a week or two old.

I decided I needed some gunners for my "gun trucks" for them to look more realistic (now I need some drivers for these two I guess). That is where the displaced Israeli came from. It's the one from Caesar's new-ish IDF set, the one frisking the palestinian. I trimmed off his gear and added some from the Caesar Elite US set with gel CA.  The other is a plain US guy from the Elite set with highly altered arms from the Stinger I believe. I painted them in US three tone desert despite it not being the proper camo for the gear molded on the figure, it is more useful than the other patterns.

I also finished painting the other two LAVs. I used the Tamiya Field Grey color as a base. The rest is MM earth red and black, finished up with white and black washes.

Were not Zombies, really

The IDF dude leans back a bit too far but will do

On another note I bough Force on Force. I had a book store gift card laying around since Christmas  and figured I would use it, especially after finding the Ambush Alley forum with so much great work in it. So far I'm happy with the game, I think I will tweak a few things though in the future as I become used to a system not written by me. A word of advice to anyone buying this, be sure you either have or buy D6, D8, D10, and D12 dice! The game depends on it in almost every action, all I had were D20s and D6s.

 Anyway, thanks for looking

    1. Thanks Gowan, conversions can be a lot of fun with the right figures. Caesar plastic is a miracle for super glue.

      As for organization:

has a great wealth of info.

  3. Very nice work. Your figure conversions has resulted in a pair of very businesslike gunners! The LAVs look very good too - can't wait to see all four in action!

  7. Ben,
Outstanding. I own Force on Force but have not yet played a proper game of it.

I love the Humvees and the weathering on your LAVs. On an interesting side note, with the new militarization of the border between Israel and the Sinai (and the calling up of numerous IDF Reserve Battalions to patrol it) there is some tremendous potential for great gaming situations.

    As always, nice work!

    Cheers,

    Steve

    1. Thanks Steve! I actually have the full set of Caesar Israelis, I've just not found a purpose or inspiration to use them yet. I think the Ambush alley forum has a TO&E for a IDF platoon, I'll have to look into doing it properly and maybe set up a game in the future. I do have a '73 era platoon though, should break them out again soon.
      Thanks for looking.
