A little bit of rapid posting! Anyway I just finished a book about the Aussie SAS operators in Afghanistan and felt compelled by the combination of tough dudes and neat camo to make a few figures for FoF. These are obviously conversions since no set of modern Australians exists. The main bodies are from various Caesar moderns sets. The heads are from Orion, Caesar etc.

I think this will be my patrol leader, who would argue with someone with such facial hair!? |
|
My two least favorite of the batch. |
|
Mustache man and sniper's assistant. |
|
The sniper man! Head from the modern German set by Caesar. |
|
Is that an Australian flag?? Not to many of them in the modeling world. |
Thanks for looking.
A formidable force mate!
ReplyDeleteNice work. I have the same facial hair with your patrol leader. But, I don't have any hair on top of my head - but that's another issue.... hahaha!
Thanks Thanos. I'm getting a rather scary mental picture!! Of course my patrol leader is wearing a beanie hat so you never know what he's hiding under there!
DeleteGreat to see some miniature modern fellow countrymen being worked on by non-fellow countrymen gamers!
ReplyDeleteThanks EF, maybe I'll do some more at some point, I'm going to need regulars now, maybe Caesar British infantry with a paint conversion... Thanks for looking!
Deletelets hope no New Zealanders see this post... they will say they have the best SAS in the world... I am british and so I KNOW that britain has the best. I think we all feel our country has the best. Nice work Ben the camo is great and your australian flag is very good for this scale :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Gowan. Of course the British will have the best, they created the SAS! Then America beats them in every thing else but thats for another time....!
DeleteBen,
ReplyDeleteI worked with many Aussie Staff Officers in Iraq and I can tell you from personal experience your camo is "spot-on" and I think your flag looks great!
lol, nice pun! I'm glad you like them. Of course I'm always looking for excuses to paint a new (to me) camo, this odd duck hunter was a little more than I could resist!
DeleteReally nice cammo! Nice paintconversions on these figures!
ReplyDeleteGreetings
Peter
