V Bottom Behemoths, and all Kinds of Goodies.

I thought I would share some of my Christmas presents, and update everyone on what I have been working on.

First off is the S&S Cougar MRAP. I got one four-wheel, and three six-wheel versions. These are very nice little kits, each with only seven pieces. The exhaust pipe, the turret, and anther thingy which I can not identify are in white metal, the two sides and main part are in resin.

Four-wheeled MRAP

HMMWV for scale

20mm Iranian, and the 6mm version for scale.

I like this picture
I also got another Dragon models Bradley IFV from Santa, as well as Marder, Fennec, and AAV-7 EAAK, all of which are very happy with their new home.
I built the ERA from sheet balsa. It is far from perfect, but it still looks cool :D

This monster is the AAV-7. It can hold up to 25 Marines, and is armed with a .50 cal MG, and a gun that fires 325 grenades the size of ping pong balls, per minute.

Here are both Brads. I forgot to add the ERA to the turret of the second one I got(foreground).
I also got another pack of Caesar Urban Resistors, as well as a set I have never owned before, Caesar modern militia!!!
I took some of the shadier characters from both sets, swapped some heads and upper bodies, and came up with some Fedayeen Saddam. These fellows in black "ninja suits" and robes were often sons of powerful Baath government leaders. They would zip around Iraqi cities on dirt bikes threatening the Iraqi army to fight better. I can also use these as generic fanatics all around the Middle East and Asia.

These are the African-looking guys from the set, also with some head and body swaps for variety. The little kids' heads are a bit too large, not my fault, they are the originals.
This is a project I started before Christmas and am really enjoying. The Iranian Army. The ones I did before weren't up to my current standards, and were not well researched. These are Caesar old US infantry, with Caesar WW2 heads, modified M4s, and all kinds of accessories.
One of my three squads. The second one is half done, and the third is not done at all....

This is my first try, and my favorite figure. I chopped up an M16 to look like a G3 (Iran's main battle rifle), glued on a WW2 head, and painted him in Iranian DPM

Team leader and Grenadier.

The RPGs are from carved tooth picks.
Anyway, I hope everyone has had a good holiday, and is enjoying my update.
Over and out.

    1. Thanks Erhan. They are nice kits, I don't like to have to paint in the windows though. I think that is the main flaw.

  2. very nice update! this is a fine presetation of your work, I love the Irainians (looks up fearing drone strike) great work on the camo (I cannot seem to spell the whole word right) those AFV's are also very nice and I like the cute comparison shots.... actually I wonder if compared to a 1/32 scale counterpart they would be small enough to be wargaming pieces.... then wargaming figs could play wargames, thought they are small enough compared to 1/72 to be Remote Control cars

    1. Thanks Gowan. That would be a neat diorama, a bunch of 1/35 scale troops playing with 6mm "toy soldiers!"

Please be careful around drones, that would not be good!

  3. I´ve recently ordered some Modern Urban resisters as well, but it has not yet occured to me that I could do some head & torso-swapping to decrease the uniformity of the set...
That´s actually an excellent idea and will probably be implemented once the package is delivered :D

    1. I'm glad my work helped! The plastic that Caesar uses is perfect for converting. With super glue, the bond is almost as strong as the rest of the figure.
I look forward to seeing them done!

    1. Thanks Al! It is pretty fun to put WW2 heads on modern bodies. I tried it vice versa to see what would happen, it was odd...

  5. Ben,
Definitely your best work I've seen so far. Truly amazing work on the Iranian DPM camo and the kit-bashed conversions.

I like the RPG gunner as well with the spare rounds in his backpack! Excellent work. Keep it coming.

    1. Danke! The Iranian camo was a fun change from UCP for sure. I had fun with the RPG guys, the pack itself is from a cut up stand from a spare Caesar figure, I could have done better but I'm impatient sometimes.

  6. Ben, the conversion work you have done to make your Iranians is simply brilliant! You seem to go from strength to strength with your conversion work!

    1. Thank you Padre! After making my second Brad I realized that Dragon makes one with ERA already on it! I'm glad you like them.
