Repainting Some Heavy Metal

I never was happy with the powdery drybrushed look of my M1 Abrams or Challenger II or Bradley. I finally decided to repaint them in a more proper style with smooth highlights and washes.
I added a few stowage details to this while I was at it. Note the cooler on the back, nothing like a cream soda in Fallujah ;-)

Up next is Brad. He has a little less stowage but nonetheless has a couple radio antennae

I've seen the glass effect way overdone before in my internet travels. Hopefully this is more subtle. I got my reference for this from here which clearly illustrates the funny looking effect.

The two together forever

Uncle Abrams with aunt Chally and nephew Bradley

The M81 camo may have been a good or bad idea, I've not decided. I figured with that I could use it from the 90s through now [surely there are a few M81 totes laying around Afghanistan].

Thanks for looking. Up next are my US Army platoon in Multicam. I just need to finish the bases.

    1. Thanks Gowan. By the time I finish my new US guys my Challenger may be finished and I can show some more pics of them. An M1 would look nice roaming the streets of your city now wouldn't it...thanks for looking.

    2. sounds like the US commander for the forces in Oronegro is called Ben???? I'll see the abrams is cool but it would be odd to have Oronegrean soldiers and Us soldiers in similar uniform, just the difference in camo I think.

the M1A1 is very cool I have to admite, my personal favourite is the leopard2 A6

  2. Nice work! I like the stowage, and the cooler. :)
Good to see the chally next to the Abram, as I've been pondering of getting a little brother to my 1/35 chally-beast.
