2011 British Platoon

Hi people! Here is my British platoon I started a looooong time ago! Anyway, I finally finished them.
These are painted in the new MTP pattern which I have grown to hate!
The figures are mostly Caesar, with a few Revell thrown in to make it a little more traditional.

SSGT, Medic, and JTAC

My favorite member of the platoon

This is a DMR painted in my first attempts at MTP=ugly.
I had to show it to be fair though :D
Good day folks..,.

  1. guess who you just made really happy :-D please be careful with those little guys I don't want my countrymen wipped out in a solo play game...

... I used to live my sailbury plain the large training ground which the army never seemed totally able to stay in... and once while in the woods when I was very little with my father and the dog we cam around a corner to find a large group of cadets? or training soldiers, the seemed increadibly friendly but for a small child lots of big men with guns seemed a bit to scary and I hid behinf my father...

anyway great work ben, if the camouglafe was a bit tricky to paint lets just hope if they intoduce a new pattern that its easier to paint (I think their working on a new multienvironment one... I think thats the one I saw, but it was very effective in long grass, much better than the current one)

    1. oh and my father got one of those SA-80's (i think thats right) pointed in his face while he was protesting against nuclear armmament in germany back in the day... he and the group had gone down the no so secret road in the not secret woods to the not so secret bunker.

    2. I'm glad you like them! That is a funny story too!

There must be another training place in England, because I read about where a sniper team was training with camouflage, and watched a group of tourists walk by on the foot path a few meters away and were never spotted! I don't think it was Salisbury Plain I read about though, I didn't recognize the name of this one.

    3. having played airsoft against a guy in a guillie suit (I spelt that wrong?) I know how hard it is to spot people who are well camouflaged, still when he gets to close just aim for the man shaped bush.

glad you enjoyed the story, I have had similar experiences living there like having to cross the road through the forest, while stopping, looking and listning..... FOR TANKS. not that you'ld easily get run over I think the large noise and rumble would give it away.

    1. Thank you! The MTP is a big pain to paint, as is MultiCam. I'm glad you like them.
