  2. nicely done. don't you just love big old soviet tanks, imagine them with half decent armour they'd be quite the opponent. thank goodness the soviets didn't (don't?) have the same quality of armour as our tanks or else had they done to war back then it would have been a real mess.

    1. Thanks Gowan.
I do love Soviet, and today's Russian tanks as well.
From what I have heard, the JS3 was quite a scare to the West because it was so advanced for its time.
As for now, there has been thousands of YouTube cursing matches started over comparing the T-90 to the M1 Abrams, but I have never seen proof of which is better, I will of course go with the Abrams :D

  3. Really like your work there. Love the dusty used feel of all the armour.

    Cheers,

    Pete.

  4. Thanks Pete!
I have finally gotten a routine of painting tanks that I'm happy with. I do the basic colors, then a thin black wash, the a fine drybrushed khaki dusting.
I did do some wet mud for these two, but still used the basic method. Thanks for looking!

  6. Very nice work, both with the paint jobs and the conversions. I look forward to seeing more!

    1. Thanks Brian, the US conversions will be a bit more difficult because there is less variety in the Revell set I'm using than the Zvezda one for these.

  8. The IS-3 just looks so wicked with that curved turret...a really menacing machine. You assembled and painted it well!

    1. Thank you! It is a lovely tank (if that is possible.)
I also like the odd turret shape, as well as the pointy front hull. I would imagine that those features were scary to the US in the 1950s!

I am happy with the way it looks now that it is finished, it was difficult to build though...
I have two more to show in the future if I ever finish them :D
