Chechen Fighters are Done!

This ends part of a short running project that I only started a few days ago. I have some time off, so I really got momentum once I started.
All but one of these is a complete conversion. I left the female sniper without a change and added her at the last minute. The others almost ALL started as RedBox, Boxer Rebellion, civilian volunteers. These are very easy to work with, and surprisingly proved excellent foundations for conversion into civilian fighters, even near a century later than intended.
For photographing and later gaming, I divided them into small units for specific purposes. These include a couple assault teams, tank hunter team, and a sniper team of three.

  1. Nice job Ben... interesting that you turned people from the 1890'2- 1900's into people from the 1990's that's cool!

I imagine that most people would never even think of trying that... I didn't for one. the closest to that I came was using resistance fighters from WW2 to represent resistance fighters in Oronegro in the 2020's. great idea and great work. I hope they prove great in games.

    good job Ben

  2. Thanks Gowan.
I was surprised at how well they worked! I bought them almost exactly one year ago for Russian Civil War, painted a few, and couldn't decide what to do with the rest. I'm thankful for bits boxes and the stash :D

    1. Thanks Pete. Now all I need are the Russians! Their BTRs are coming along well and should be ready by the time their riders arrive.

    3. I better rephrase as, "passengers." I using Elhiem's Soviets in Afghanistan, and a few of their Cold War Soviets in body armor. I think they will work fairly well for early Chechnya.

    4. Yeah good choices. S and S do some decent packs on seated Russians. I got some to go on top of my BTRs as the Russians seem to prefer to ride on top rather than inside, guess they fear mines and IED more than snipers.

      Cheers,

      Pete.

    5. True, I just found them on their album yesterday, very tempting.
I would imagine that they could deploy much faster when riding on top as well.

    1. Thanks Melvin! I was told that very little camouflage would be the most accurate for this early in the war, so I had to paint a lot of civllian looking guys!
